Thanksgiving Day Prayers

Last year I was so embarrassed when I went to a friend’s house for Thanksgiving dinner. They asked me as the guest to recite grace, and I had no idea what to say. I just made one up on the spot, which you can use: “Thank you, God, for this wonderful meal, and the health and prosperity of the people around it. Amen.” It seemed to go over okay. But my face was so red I could barely stand it. I googled some Thanksgiving Day prayers and there were some really good ones. Plus, if you scroll down they have all kinds of standard ways that people say grace. Actually reading them made me feel better about what I said last year, because it’s very similar to the same ways people standardly say grace. But this year I think if they ask, I’ll say something more traditional.
