Girls to Women

11 April 2010

My best friend growing up was a very beautiful little girl.  We played basketball and barbies together, and we swam in the nearby lake each day of the summer.  We were inseparable.  We even both got the same BOUTIQUE HATS FOR LITTLE GIRLS and wore them the same days of the week.  After high school, life just kind of drastically changed and we drifted out of contact.  I got a letter the other day that came from Kentucky, and I didn’t think I knew anyone there.  However, once I saw the picture, it became clear.  My old best friend was getting married.

Well known rappers, such as Chuck D and N.W.A, talked about run ins with the police and gang violence and rap was seen as more of a culture than style of music.
