A Man Was Trying To Put Me In Danger

26 July 2010

In my way to work, a man bumped me and declared a hold-up. He had a knife on his hand and was about to hit me.  He yelled at me give me your bag or else I will stabbed you with this knife. In my mind I was picturing out an event in a movie were a girl was supposed to be stabbed when she used karate for self defense to throw away the knife and get away from the man. So as I was giving him my bag I tried to use karate pinch with hard pressure so that he could let go of the knife. As I did it successfully I kicked the man under the belt so that he would feel the pain of the kick and would bend down. When the time he bends down I run far away and get helped.

It’s Cold Outside!

14 July 2010

Summer is my favorite season! When my wife said we were leaving the hot Texas coast to fly up and going skiing I started to panic. I like it 100 degrees, and I know snow is not that warm. My wife found a site that reviewed skiing equipment, and through them found a site that sold her a highly reviewed Ski Coat. The ski coat arrived, I tried it on, and started sweating. I loved it! We went skiing and I did not even notice the cold air. I love this coat so much that I plan to start wearing it all winter long as my main coat!

Heard About Moto GP Tickets at the Baseball Practice

25 June 2010

At the softball practice on Thursday I heard some of the parents talking about Moto GP tickets. I had never heard of this so I asked what it is. They told me that it is motorcycle racing. I thought, oh wow, my son would surely love that. They said they were going as a group and invited me to come along. They were collecting the money for the tickets. I went to find my husband to see if the dates would work for him and he said that he would check his business calendar. I hope we get to go.

Protection

25 June 2010

When purchasing an air soft gun it is important to purchase the safety accessories to go along with your gun. Available for purchase are items like full face masks, helmets, goggles, eye wear, and shooting glasses. In order to provide the most full protection a full face mask is recommended. Full face masks protect the eyes, ears, nose and teeth. When you purchase face protection most protection is compatible with a variety of helmets, goggles, and eye wear. Also available for apparel purchase are masks, slings, holsters and vests. The apparel is available in camo and other colors. Protective clothing is important to wear when using airsoft guns.

Keeping Fit

23 June 2010

It is highly recommended that you use natural methods when it comes to keeping fit and gaining strength for MMA fights against your opponents.  Examples of natural methods include the use of a healthy diet as well as the very effective mma strength training. If you correctly combine these two options, it is highly likely that you are going to obtain your weight loss goals as well as gain strength in the process. This process involves a variety of exercises that you are supposed to perform in order to effectively work the muscles and thus burn the excess undesirable fats.

The Surfing Wetsuit World

21 May 2010

It can be difficult to understand why a wetsuit would be preferred in the water.  Well it is a lot easier to understand than one might think.  These surfing wetsuits can be a lifesaver for any surfer.  There is nothing worse than having cold water hit you and cause you to loose balance.  The reason these suits are the best of the best is because if the amazing absorbent capabilities.  Our body has it’s own temperature gage and will work at heating it and keeping it at a perfect temperature when given the chance.  Heat tends to travel from hotter things to colder ones and will heat it.  That is the great way these wetsuits can and will work.

Airsoft Guns and Fun

19 May 2010

If there is anything I’ve learned from my husband and step sons when it comes to having fun. They love, and I mean really love airsoft guns. It doesn’t matter who makes it or how much it costs, their favorite activity is to go out to the family farm and play with their airsoft guns.

Personally, I’ve never really gotten into them, but it’s nice to be able for them to bond that way, even if it is over something as simple and easy as airsoft guns. I think a lot of people could learn from them in spending time with your family.

Aspects of Your Triathalon Training

19 May 2010

Another important aspect of triathalon training that many athletes overlooked is the cooldown period associated with the ending your workout. Just like the warm-up, the best thing to do is to slowly stop, not just out altogether cold turkey. This can be bad for your muscles and joints, it can cause you pain and suffering later on if you don’t adhere to this advice. So what you should do is slowly come to a job after you finish printing or running hard, followed by short walking. Remember to also drink plenty of water since this helps you stay hydrated and healthy.

Camping with Homework: My Family Legacy

11 May 2010

When I was a kid, summer meant one of two things: getting into the station wagon and heading to the cottage in the woods or getting into the Volkswagon and hitting the road. My parents were teachers, so the summers were spent on extended vacations.

Camping trips ranged from short local jaunts to one extended trip which kept us on the road for over six weeks. Just because my parents were on vacation didn’t mean they stopped teaching. I actually had homework on these long trips! My assignment was simple: to keep a journal of all the places we went and the things that we saw. I balked at first, especially with the demand that it illustrate my entries, but this was solved with a hole punch, a shower curtain ring, and the souvenier postcards we would pick up along the way. I would date each card and write about the trip and the place, punch a hole in it, and slide it onto the ring. Years later, these “camping journals” are wonderful keepsakes of my childhood as a summer gypsy accounting for all the things we got up to, including even using bait boats for carp fishing. As soon as the weather gets warm, my feet are ready to move. Someday, I’ll give my kids “camping homework” of their own.

Choosing a Pocketknife for Our Son

11 May 2010

My son’s birthday is coming up and my husband thinks that he is at the appropriate age where he should have a pocketknife.  I am not sure that I agree but my husband promised that he will give our son a complete lesson on knife safety.  I do trust my husband to educate our son about this matter so I agreed to let my husband buy our son a pocketknife.  We decided to look at Swiss Army Knives because they are a dependable brand that has been around for a long time. We found a lot of choices available, which made it difficult to choose.
