The show I saw on cheap holidays

24 February 2010

I was watching HBO last Monday night on my new Plasma television that I had bought over the Internet. I got a very good price and I was amazed as to how good the picture turned out to be. Around nine I changed the channel to channel 513 to watch a show that had to do with vacations. I like television shows that have to do with travel. The show they had on last night centered around cheap holidays to Turkey. The show was interesting because I didn’ know there were so many beautiful places in the that part of the world.

Getting places on a tight budget

10 February 2010

I had my rotorua accommodation sorted out so now I just had to figure out how I was going to get there. Hitchhiking was a thought although it is not the most reliable way to get around, I also had a look at the bus schedules but for some reason the tickets were pretty pricey. Through the wonders of social networking I managed to find out that a friend of a friend was driving down there the same day I was going so I arranged to chip in some money for petrol and get a lift with them. It seems like a lot of effort but I’m sure the concert will be well worth it.

Herzliya for the Beach Addict

02 February 2010

I am a very big beach person. I do not care wherever in the world you take me as long as there is sun, sand and water! My girlfriend is planning a trip for two to Israel. While I would like to see Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Nazareth, I told her to make sure a couple of days in the beach are included in our itinerary. So, she booked us a weekend at one of the best Herzliya hotels, pretty close to the beach. She even researched on the water sports that we can join – diving, sailing, kayaking, wind surfing and all. Now, this is my cup of tea!

Going on a Vacation

30 January 2010

My brother called me up a few days ago and told me that he had a big surprise for me.  I asked him what it was, and he said that he was going to be taking his family on a Hilton Head Vacation, and he wanted my wife and I to join them.  I was a little bit startled by it, and I asked him why.  He told me that he felt like we hadn’t been spending that much time together over the last few years, and he wanted to make it up to us.  I thought that it was a fabulous idea.

Two requirements

29 January 2010

When we were sorting out our rotorua motels we had a couple of requirements. We needed it to be close enough to the centre that we could walk to places and we also really wanted somewhere that had a restaurant or offered room service. I didn’t think this was asking too much. We did find a place that met both of these and it was actually a very nice place. As much as we hadn’t really wanted to go there as it was for a business trip, the hotel made it considerably more enjoyable. I think it is safe to say that we will stay there from now on.

Comparison Shopping

22 January 2010

I used to waste my time and gas driving around to different travel agents and trying numerous vacation packages. I got so tired of standing in line at the customer service desk trying to exchange yet another ticket. It got to the point that I didn’t even feel like trying to go anywhere new, because I just knew that I wouldn’t be able to go because of work. Why deal with the disappointment day after day. Now I signed up for an accommodation in Brisbane at a secure web site and will sit back and wait for the ticket to arrive. I also don’t have to worry about returns because of their guarantee.

Two Weeks and Counting

20 January 2010

I am so excited I just found the best short term let in London. We will be renting a 2 bedroom apartment and staying there for two weeks. Ever since I went to London thirteen years ago, I’ve wanted to go back. Now, not only do I get to go back but I get to bring the whole family. This is going to be such a great family getaway! I found the place online and the pictures look great.  I can only imagine how many times the kids are going to ask, “Are we there yet?” We’re not leaving for two weeks but we’re already starting to pack.
