The Age of Invention is Not Over

My young son came home with an assignment and he was stumped.  He told me his teacher told them they had to write a report about great inventions in recent years.  The class had been studying the creation of things like steam engines, electricity, and the telephone.  He was convinced that the age of invention was over.  I explained to him that there are so many new ideas being born that today we actually have the World Intellectual Property Organization to protect them.  I also listed a few new things, such as computers, which didn’t really exist a few years ago.  Once he caught on, his homework was finished in no time.  He got an “A”.
