Loire River
The majestic river that runse through the Loire Valley France is the longest river in France and spans more than a fifth of France’s land area. During the French Renaissance, the Kings of France built their luxurious chateaux along the banks of the Loire River and can still be seen today preserved flawlessly over time. The central part of the valley and Loire River was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2000 due to its historic and magnificent status. The fertile banks of the Loire River are also home to many vineyards and the Loire is a well-known French wine region.
